Willson is actually the brother of William, Alexander and Elizabeth. The 1851 census indicates that John was born in Scotland, not the U.S. However, William and Alexander indicate that their family is of Scottish descent, so a connection is still possible. Also, John is old enough that he could be the father of these siblings, or an uncle. The appearance of Alexander and Elizabeth as witnesses to John's marriage lends some support to a family connection, however it is also possible that there were other Alexander and Elizabeth Wilson's living in Woodstock at that time. More research is definitely needed. John married Dinah SMITH on 20 May 1841 in Zorra, Oxford County, Ontario. (Dinah SMITH was born in 1815 in England and died on 8 Feb 1892 in Woodstock, Oxford County, Ontario 5.)
