Daniel may be the son of Ebenezer Harris (b. abt. 1793, CT) and wife Abigail (b. abt. 1790, RI), and the brother of Seth Harris (b. abt. 1814, PA). Daniel, Seth and Ebenezer all appear living in Chemung, New York on the 1840 census, and on subsequent census' through 1860. However, both Daniel and Seth indicate on census records that their father was born in Vermont and their mother in France (validating their sibling relationship), so it is possible that Ebenezer and Abigail are not related. More research is needed.
Daniel married Mary UNKNOWN about 1838 in Prob. Chemung County, New York. (Mary UNKNOWN was born about 1821 in New York and died before 1870 in Baldwin, Chemung County, New York.)
