2 1900 US Census (District 184, Clay, Sherman County, Nebraska). Repository: Ancestry. Surety: 4. Lists Simpson Criss (age 73, b. Feb 1827, OH), wife Naomi S. (age 60, b. Jul 1839, OH) and son Simpson N. (age 21, b. Oct 1878, NE), living in Clay, Nebraska. Also in the household is "granddaughter" Ella Florence Criss (age 7, b. Aug 1892, Missouri). Both Simpson and Naomi indicate that both their parents were born in Pennsylvania, that they both married at the age of 33, and have had eight children, seven of whom are still living. Ella Florence indicates that her father was born in Indiana and her mother in Nebraska. It is likely that the info was provided by Simpson Jr., and I question the accuracy of his parents and grandparents' birthplaces. Earlier census records are likely more accurate in this regard.

Simpson indicates that his father was born in Ohio and his mother in Pennsylvania [erroneous]. Sarah indicates that both her parents were born in Sweden. Naomi indicates that both her parents were born in Ireland.
