Johann remarried to Matilda Yount about 1838, and had children John J. (1839-1918), Jacob D., Zachariah T., Thomas Charles, Samuel Nathan, Mary Olive and possibly an Octavius. It is possible that John and his family moved to Illinois (as did his son, George, and his family), as the U.S. Census of 1880 shows his son, John J., (by his second wife) living in Illinois at that time. Also appears in records as John Jacob Andre.

Johan and Matilda are probably buried in Pioneers Cemetery in Dakota, Illinois. Numerous headstones in the cemetery are unreadable, so it is uncertain if that is their resting place. Their son, George, and daughter, Mary Olive, are buried there.

Johann married Elizabeth in 1822 in Wuerttemberg, Germany. (Elizabeth was born about 1800-1805 in Prob. Germany and died before 1838 in Prob. Pennsylvania.)

Johann next married Matilda YOUNT, daughter of Abraham YOUNT and Elizabeth MEIER, about 1837 in Pennsylvania. (Matilda YOUNT was born on 7 Nov 1816 in Catasauqua, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, died on 2 Mar 1895 in Freeport, Stephenson County, Illinois and was buried in 1895 in Dakota Cemetery, Stephenson County, Illinois.)
