DEATH NOTICE: BETHUEL BARRATT DIES IN 65TH YEAR Following an illness of two weeks a well known and highly esteemed resident of Beachville in the person of Bethuel Barratt passed away in Alexandra Hospital, on Tuesday, December 24th, 1963. Mr. Barratt, who was in his 65th year, was born in England, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Barratt, coming to Canada with his parents at an early age residing in West Oxford [township]. In 1920 her married the former, Mabel Budd, and farmed in the township for a number of years, later moving to Beachville where he had resided for the past 35 years and for 28 years had been an employed of the Cyanamid of Canada, Ltd. A member of the Beachville United Church, Mr. Barratt was also a member of St. John's Lodge, No. 68 and his cheerful and kindly nature had won for him a very large circle of friends. Left to mourn the passing of a dearly loved husband and father are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Vern Dennis [Edna] of Fort Garry, Manitoba; Mrs. Howard Riley [Marion] of Ingersoll; Mrs. Mel Armstrong [Reta] of Beachville; and one son, Danny of Ingersoll. Also surviving is one brother, A. D. Barratt of Jacksonville, Florida and one sister, Mrs. T. H. Marshall [Amy] of London, England. Mr. Barratt rested at the McBeath Funeral Home, 246 Thames St. S., where service was held on Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock with Rev. Stewart Miner of Beachville United Church officiating. The large attendance of relatives, neighbours and other friends and the profusion of beautiful floral offerings, bore tribute to the high esteem in which Mr. Barratt was held. Temporary entombment was in the Ingersoll Mausoleum with interment later in the Harris Street Cemetery. The casket bearers who also acted as flower bearers were William Sutherland, Lloyd Butterworth, George Sancham, Thomas Watmough, H. Lambert and H. E. Barrett. On Thursday evening a Masonic Memorial service was held at the funeral home at 7:30 o'clock under the auspices of St. John's Lodge, No. 68, with Wor. Master H. A. Lambert and J. W. Dean in charge. There was large attendance of brethren.
