BUDD BRIDE OF BRUCE HUTCHESON West Oxford United Church, beautifully decorated with ferns and gladioli was the scene of a pretty wedding when Kathleen Maureen, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Budd, was united in marriage to Bruce Fenton, second son of Mr. Andrew Hutcheson and the late Mrs. Hutcheson of Beachville. Rev. E. S. Barton of Beachville officiated. The wedding music was played by Mrs. Gordon Elliott, cousin of the groom and Miss Reta Barratt, cousin of the bride, was the soloist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was charmingly gowned in a white floor length dress with lace bodice, sweetheart neckline and bouffant skirt of white net over taffeta. She wore her mother's veil, finger tip length and floral headdress. Her only ornament was a single strand of pearls, the gift of the groom. She carried a bouquet of Better Time and Killarney roses. Her attendants were her twin sisters, Miss Geraldine Budd, Reg. N., as maid of honour and her sister, Miss Dorothy Budd as bridesmaid. They wore dressed identical to the bride's, the former in blue and the latter in pink and wore matching floral headdresses. Each carried a nosegay of pink carnations and Briarcliffe roses. Little Jean Marie Budd, niece of the bride, made a winsome flower girl. She was dressed in white organdy and her nosegay was of pink and white carnations, baby 'mums and roses. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, CQMS Nelson Hutcheson, London; Murray Budd, brother of the bride were ushers. A reception for about 40 guests was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. Budd received in a dress of black crepe with white beaded trim and black accessories. She was assisted by Miss Irene Hutcheson, sister of the groom, who wore a dress of gold summer wool crepe with black accessories. Their corsages were of Better Time roses. A buffet luncheon was served by four friends of the bride, the Misses Grace Jolliffe, Mabel Good, Reg. N., Agnes Ovens, Reg. N., and Mrs. Murray Budd. They were assisted by Mrs. George Witty and Mrs. Beth Barratt, aunts of the bride. For travelling the bride chose a brown gabardine suit with matching accessories. Following a honeymoon to points north, the couple will reside in West Oxford [township].

Ibid. Surety: 4. DEATH NOTICE: MANY SADDENED BY DEATH OF MRS. B. HUTCHESON West Oxford community was shocked and saddened by the death on Tuesday of Kathleen Budd, beloved wife of Bruce Hutcheson, of RR5 Ingersoll. She was in her 34th year and had been ill only a week. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Budd, of West Oxford [township], she was born in Alberta, but had spent practically all her life in this community. Prior to her marriage in 1946, she had taught school as Routledge's School and the Chapel Street School, Woodstock. She was a member of West Oxford United Church and of the Ladies' Aid there. She had also taught Sunday School and was a member of the West Oxford Women's Institute. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Hutcheson is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Russel Currie [Dorothy], West Oxford [township]; Miss Geraldine Budd, RN, Woodstock [a twin sister]; two brothers, Arthur, Ingersoll; and Murray, West Oxford [township]; her grandmother, Mrs. A. J. Budd, of West Oxford [township], and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hutcheson is resting at the Keeler & Johnstone Funeral, where funeral will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. J. E. Watson will officiated and interment is to follow at Harris Street Cemetery.
