1 Ingersoll Tribune (Ingersoll, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada). Surety: 4. MARRIAGE NOTICE: A PRETTY CHURCH WEDDING For the first time in its history, St. Paul’s Presbyterian church. Ingersoll, was the scene of a wedding. The innovation was marked by an exceedingly pretty event. Miss Edith Marion, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McDonald, Margaret St. was given in marriage to Mr. Alfred E. Uren of Toronto, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Uren John St. The church was en fete for the fashionable hour, with her pretty floral decorations, her banks of autumn foliage and the atmosphere sweetly scented with their fragrance. At half past two o'clock the large pipe organ, played by Professor Martin, pealed out the notice of Mendelsohn's wedding march and shortly afterwards the bridal party were ushered by the alter by Dr. Seldon, Mr. H. McCarty and Mr. Bradley of Elmira. The bride looked very sweet and radiant in a gown of exquisite ivory Satin with empire over dress of embroidered Brussels net, with an em-broidered veil and caplet of orange blossoms and heather. A shower, of roses and lily of the valley composed the bridal bouquet and a sunburst pendant, the groom’s gift, was the bride's only jewel. Mrs. Frankish of Toronto [nee Miss Podmore] formerly of Ingersoll was matron of honor and was beautifully attired in a lovely pink Duchess, with directoire hat, and carried pink roses. Little Helen Wood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.. George Wood, made a sweet little flower girl, prettily dressed in white embroidered lingerie dress carrying a basket of roses. In the presence of over one hundred invited guests and the large auditorium filled with spectators, the pastor Rev. Alfred Bright performed the ceremony. The bride was led in by her brother, Mr. George McDonald of Toronto and was given away by her father. Mr. Russell Uren brother of the groom, was best man. While the register was being signed Miss Edith Wood gave a pleasing rendition of vocal solo 'Because." After the ceremony Mr. Bright presented the bride, with a' Bible, a gift from the members of the Session in accordance with the custom, that the first bride, to be married in the church should be the recipient of the Book of Truths. The bride's mother was becomingly gowned in grey silk and the groom's mother wore a pretty brown silk. On leaving the church, Mr. and Mrs. McDonald held a reception at their home, Margaret St., where the rooms were prettily decorated with ferns and American Beauty roses. About one hundred guests congratulated the bride and groom and enjoyed a dainty buffet luncheon served by the ushers. The wedding gifts were numerous and handsome, among them being a Crown Derby tea set, a chest of silver and several cheques Mr. and Ms. Uren left on the five o'clock train for a three week' wedding trip to New York and other points, the bride’s travelling in a taupe broadcloth suit made in the directoire style, with satin hat to match. After their return to Toronto they will reside at 59 Parkway Ave. Mr. and Mrs. Uren have the heartiest wishes of a host of Ingersoll friends for their future prosperity and happiness.
