Iowa) and Edward (age 2, b. MO), living in Benton, Missouri. Also in the household are Josephine's sister, Lillian Martin (age 22, b. IL) listed as "teaching school," Robert Clumes (age 21, b. MO) listed as a "farm laborer," and Alphonso's mother, Elizabeth [Shoemaker] Morgan (age 50, b. IN). Alphonso indicates that both his parents were born in Ohio. Josephine indicates that both her parents were born in New Hampshire. Lillian indicates that her father was born in New Hampshire and her mother in Canada (perhaps they had different mothers?).
