HOLROYD, Joseph G. or H. 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Another name for Joseph was Joseph G. Holroyd, Halroyd, Holroyel. General Notes: Joseph and Emmet's last known location was Eagle Point, Ogle County, Illinois. They appear living there on the 1880 US Census. Also in the household are sons Homer Milton, and Jerome Holroyd with his wife and children. On this census, Jerome is listed as disabled with a dislocated hip. This census also lists Joseph's parents as both being born in England. Emmet's father is listed as born in New Jersey, her mother in Indiana. Joseph and Emmet appear in no other census records. By the 1900 US Census, Jerome and his family are living in Beatrice, Nebraska; and Homer and his family are living in Rock Run, Stephenson County, Illinois. It is logical to assume that Joseph and Emmet passed away in Eagle Point, or perhaps in Rock Run, but I have been unable to find any record of their deaths in either county. Joseph married Emmit SHOEMAKER, daughter of John SHOEMAKER and Elizabeth DANIELS, on 10 May 1843 in Mt. Carroll, Carroll County, Illinois.1 (Emmit SHOEMAKER was born on 30 Jan 1821 in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana and died after 1880 in Prob. Eagle Point, Ogle County, Illinois.) |
