1 1920 US Census (District 305, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan). Surety: 4. Lists Oliva (as Levi, age 43, b. MI [incorrect]), wife Ada (age 42, b. Canada), and children Raymond (age 15, b. MI), Paul (age 13, b. MI), Charles (age 9, b. MI), Agnes (age 9, b. MI), and William (age 2, b. MI). Also in the household are nephew Roy Thomas [son of Ada's sister, Matilda] (age16, b. MI), and Ada's mother, Marguerite [Godin] Goupille (age 68, b. Canada). Oliva is listed as a "steam fitter" for an auto company. Roy is also working as a "stock cuter(?)" at an auto plant. Oliva incorrectly indicates that both of his parents were born in Michigan [they were born in Canada]. Ada indicates that she came to the U.S. in 1882 and was naturalized in 1905. Marguerite indicates that she came to the U.S. in 1882 and was not naturalized.

2 1930 US Census, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Surety: 4. Lists Oliva (as Levi, age 55), wife Ada (age 52), son Paul (age 24), son Charles (age 20), daughter Agnes (age 20), and son William (age 14), living in Detroit. Oliva is listed as a "supervisor" at the "city gas company." Paul is listed as a "bus driver" for the "city bus company." Charles is listed as a "truck driver" for the "Buscott Company." Agnes is listed as a "telephone operator" for a "telephone company." Paul had been married to Dorothy Wilson in 1924, had a daughter who died in infancy, and then divorced. They would remarry in 1934 and remain together until Dorothy's death in 1977.

3 1910 US Census (Burt Township, Alger County, Michigan). Surety: 4. Lists Oliva (age 35), wife Ada (age 32), daughter Florence (age 7), son Raymond (age 5), son Paul (as Emmanuel, age 3), son Charles (<1), and daughter Agnes (as Mary A., age <1), living in Alger County. Oliva is listed as a "sawyer" for a "sawmill." This is the only census record known in which their daughter, Florence, appears. She died just nine years later as a novetiate at a convent in Chicago, Illinois. This is also the only official record found that lists their son, Paul, by his given name, Emmanuel. By the 1920 census, he is called Paul, and legally changed his name as an adult.
