BUDD DIES IN 74th YEAR West Oxford--The death occurred at the family residence, Lot 13, Concession 1, West Oxford [township], on Tuesday morning, January 14th, 1957 of Albert Edward Budd in his 74th year. Though in failing health for the past year, Mr. Budd's death came as a shock to his family and friends. Mr. Budd was born at Folden's Corners and was the eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Budd. While he spent the greater part of his life farming in West Oxford [township], he lived for 13 years in Edmonton, where he was salesman for the Beattie Firm. He was a member of the West Oxford United Church and his genial and kindly disposition won for him a large number of friends. In his youth he was a member of the West Oxford Football Stars. For a period of seven years he served on the Board of Education of West Oxford [township] of which he was chairman for four years. Left to mourn the passing of a beloved husband and father are his wife, the former Mabel Gilbert; two daughters, Dorothy [Mrs. Russell Currie] and Miss Geraldine, at home, and two sons, Arthur and Murray. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, all of West Oxford [township]; four sisters, Miss Ethel Budd of Detroit; Mrs. W. J. Cuthbert of Ingersoll; Mrs. George Witty of Folden's Corners; and Mrs. Beth Barratt of Beachville; and four brothers, Verne and Wilbur of Folden's Corners; Harry of Woodstock; and Frank of Detroit. One daughter, Kathleen [Mrs. Bruce Hutcheson], predeceased him 4 years ago. The late Mr. Budd is resting at the Walker and Clifton Funeral Home, 88 King St. W., Ingersoll, where services will be held this [Thursday] afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. Bruce Suitor of Beachville, officiating. Temporary entombment will be made in the Ingersoll Mausoleum.

5 Ingersoll Tribune (Ingersoll, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada). Surety: 4. DEATH NOTICE: ALBERT E. BUDD The funeral of Albert E. Budd, whose death occurred at his late residence, in West Oxford [township], on Tuesday, January 14, was held from the Walker and Clifton Funeral Home, 88 King St. W., on Thursday afternoon, January 16 at 2:30 o'clock, where service was conducted by Rev. Bruce Suitor, of the West Oxford Church, assisted by Rev. J. W. Cruikshank, formerly of Beachville. The large attendance of relatives and friends and the many beautiful floral offerings, bore silent tribute to the high esteem in which Mr. Budd was held. During the service, a solo was sung by Mrs. Bruce Suitor, accompanied by Mrs. Elizabeth Bonesteel. The casketbearers were the following nephews: Vernon Cuthbert, William Budd, Howard Riley, Melvin Armstrong, Glen Mayberry and Danny Barrett. The flower bearers, also nephews, were Arthur Kerr, Monte Town, James Pilkington, Gordon Kerr, Allan Needham and Hector Gilbert. Temporary entombment was made in the Ingersoll Mausoleum, with interment later in the family plot in the Harris Street Cemetery.
