BUDD DIES IN 95TH YEAR In failing health for the past month and seriously ill for three weeks, Mrs. Arthur James Budd passed away at the family residence, Lot 10, Concession 4, West Oxford [township], Wednesday morning. Born in Sweaburg, the former Clarissa Jane [Clara] Manzer, Mrs. Budd was in her 95th year, and was a daughter of the late John and Hannah Manzer. 'Grandma' Budd as she was affectionately called, had spent her entire life in the district and had always taken an active interest in all community affairs and her kindly and unassuming nature had endeared her to all with whom she came in contact. She was also very well known at Folden's Corners. She had been a member of the West Oxford Women's Institute since it's inception also a member of the Folden's Corners United Church and a very active member of the Women's Association of that church. Mrs. Budd had been actively interested in quilting, sewing and knitting and many friends in the community have been recipients of her generosity in regards to specimens of her splendid work. Her husband predeceased her in 1926. Left to mourn the passing of a dearly beloved mother are 9 children; five sons, Albert and Wilbur, West Oxford [township]; Verne, on the homestead; Harry, Blandford [township]; and Frank in Detroit; four daughters, Miss Ethel Budd in Detroit; Mrs. Edith Cuthbert, Ingersoll; Mrs. George Witty [Edna], Folden's Corners; Mrs. Beth Barrett [Mabel], Beachville. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Ada Thomas, Ingersoll; 14 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Budd is resting at the Walker and Clifton Funeral Home, 88 King St. W., Ingersoll, where service will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. S. R. Cooper officiating. Interment will be made in the Harris Street Cemetery.
