General Notes: Son, George, was appointed sergeant of militia under Capt. Israel Putnam, and served in the French-Indian War during the winter of 1755-56. He enlisted 3/10/1775 in Maj. Robert Denison's 3rd Company and was discharged 12/10/1755. Noted events in his life were: • Military Service: Connecticut Militia, Col. McClellan's Regiment, 1778, Connecticut. Robert married Elizabeth about 1712 in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut. (Elizabeth was born about 1680-1685 in Prob. Connecticut, died after 1731 in New London, Connecticut and was buried in prob. Avery Cemetery, New London County, Connecticut.) |
